Big Poppa is the latest single from Bristol-based genderqueer producer & vocalist Grove, taking influence from 90’s & 00’s hip-hop and recontextualising it through a queer lens.
“Think if a Biggie tune & a Missy Elliott tune had a lil’ gay baby... that energy” - Grove
Big Poppa is Grove’s second appearance on Saffron Records, having made their debut with the track ‘Lights’ in July 2019. Since then, Grove has been part of Saffron’s coveted Artist Development programme, which provides mentoring and elevation for women, non-binary people and minority-gender artists.
